Comparison of GPU Performance

Hi,

will there be a comparison for different GPU's for h.264 encoding?

E.g. GeForce 8600M GT (128 Mb) / WinXP SP2 encoding h.264 is as fast as 2.2 GHz Core 2 Duo (Mobile): 30 fps.

Which mobile GPU will see a significant improvement (starting at 48 fps)?

Great question.  The degree to which the transcode speed is accelerated (using an NVIDIA GPU) is pretty much linear to the number of CUDA cores.  For example,  the GeForce GTX 280 will transcode your file over twice as fast as the GeForce 9800 GT.

You can find a list of NVIDIA CUDA-enabled GPUs here:  http://www.nvidia.com/object/cuda_gpus.html.

Click on your GPU to go to its page, and then in the "Specifications" tab there will be the number of CUDA cores the GPU has.
