Beta version updated and other Badaboom vs. Badaboom Pro details

Sorry for the long delay between posts.  As one beta ends another begins.

We are still not comfortable with the program being ready for sale at this time.  But we feel like we are getting pretty close now.  Trust us we are more anxious than anyone to have the product launched.  The http://www.nvidia.com/forcewithin site has been updated with the a new version of the beta so you can check out where we are at (you can unselect everything but Badaboom if that’s what your after).  As always if you have any issues please let us know by visiting the support forums or the contact page so we can improve the product.

In other product news….

In order for our development team to focus on bringing a quality product to market it has been decided that we will cut our product offerings down to a single product… Badaboom.  Badaboom Pro will be canceled but the features which were planned to go into Badaboom Pro will be rolled into Badaboom instead.  Badaboom 1.0 remains focused on delivering Baseline H.264 with 2 channels of audio for portable devices.  The Badaboom 1.1 schedule and features will be announced at the same time or shortly after Badaboom 1.0 is released.

The Badaboom 1.0 release has already merged in some of the features from Badaboom Pro (higher resolution input and output support) today and over time we will add more of the features that were originally planned to be provided in Badaboom Pro only.  There is no plan to change the pricing of Badaboom it will still be $29.99 even as we add the Badaboom Pro features.

The licensing terms for Badaboom are setup such that when you purchase the product your license remains valid until the next major revision (2.0 for example).  Our current plan is that the 1.x revisions will last for at least a year from the launch date.
