Apple MacBook Pro 17" with nVidia 8600M GT using Apple BootCamp and Vista 32-bit

Hi All,

Not sure if this is the correct forum.

If anyone is trying to get Badaboom 1.0/1.1 working on a MacBook Pro with an nVidia 8600M GT inside, then you will need to download a customised nVidia driver, as the standard one from the nVidia website will not install drivers for notebooks.

In order to do this, visit this website and download the driver and the custom INF file supplied on the site.

WARNING: Please be aware that this may make the GPU run higher then the usual limit imposed by Apple's BootCamp.

I have, Star Wars III - Revenge of the Sith, encoding this very minute, and it's running around about the 28fps. Which equates to about 145min encoding time. This is using the latest version 1.1.

I'm going to compare the picture quality from Badaboom and Handbrake, including timings to find out which is better/quicker.

Hope this helps anyone trying to use Apple hardware.

Regards,
Kevin
