I am hoping to use Badaboom in Windows 2000 with the help of a compatibility layer for Windows 2000 called KDW (KnownDlls wrapper). The wrapper DLL files with KDW make it possible to run many "XP and higher only" applications in Windows 2000.
I am able to install the CUDA drivers, toolkit, and SDK without any problems. Badaboom also installs fine and seems be working up until I attempt to "preview" or "start" any video transcoding. When I try any transcoding operations I receive the error "an error occurred while transcoding" and I am advised to contact the support staff here at badaboomit.com.
Is it possible to get more verbose output from Badaboom in order to determine exactly what is causing this error? The error given isn't very specific, so it is nearly impossible to guess what the author of KDW may need to improve in his/her product to improve support for Badaboom.
FYI, most of the CUDA samples in the SDK work fine. One notable exception is the "cudaVideoDecode" sample (bundled with the 2.0 SDK), which causes Windows to freeze up with (no BSOD, just freezes video). Maybe that info could be useful for tracking down the problem.
Thanks ahead for your help. :)
Greg
