Progressive download type for Zune/Xbox360/WMP?

I convert several hourlong clips in 720p for use online every week, and it takes a lot of processing time. The clips are posted as WMV-files and are played directly through progressive download.
I've done some testing with exporting to a standard Zune profile in Badaboom, setting it to 720p and renaming the output file from mp4 to WMV and it'll play in WMP with no issues.
The thing is they won't play directly through progressive download when trying them on my webserver as my other files do.
Are there any settings or tweaks I could do on the Zune profile to make the Badaboom-transcoded file progressively downloadable, meaning it plays during download?

Hi xrun - Unfortunately, no.

Hi xrun -

Unfortunately, no.  Badaboom must finish the transcode before the output file may be viewed.  The reason being is that after transcode, Badaboom needs to finish writing additional header and footer information to the file to complete it.  Only then the file may be viewed.  If you cancel a transcode during, the information is still written, so you can view the file, but if you get an error, you can't watch the output file.  Same reason here.  Please let us know if you have any further questions!

Maybe I was being unclear...

I am letting the whole transcode finish, then upload the resulting file to the webserver as allways, and then I'd like that file to be progressively downloadable meaning it'll start playing back in for example WMP on the visitors computer after a few seconds while the rest of the file is being downloaded. The transcode has been over for hours and days allready. Just need the resulting file to be progressively downloadable/playable. You know, the very normal "the file is all done, just waiting to be progressively downloaded" type scenario. :)

You mean like a streaming

You mean like a streaming video?  No, Badaboom doesn't have the capability to edit the "moov atom" to the beginning of the file to make it streaming.  There are other tools available, but we have no official recommendation as to which ones to use or how.   Anyone else have any thoughts on how to do that?  You're welcome to discuss it! :)

Yes, that's it

It's "like" a streaming video, but in reality it is not. It behaves like a streaming video on the screen, but does not have support for several bitrates and jumping around the timeline slider also doesen't go very well most of the time, so there are very real technical differences between a progressive download and an actual streaming video, and they place differing demands on the webserver.
The good news is that a progressively downloadable video is much simpler to make than streaming media, it just requires the "moov atom" as you say to be mooved (hehe) from the end of the file to the beginning.
Surely this must be a small feature to ask for, maybe in a little ol' checkbox like "Place moov at beginning" before transcoding. ;)
